"All healing is first a healing of the heart." Carl Townsend
Emotional pain can be excruciating, more hurtful at times than physical pain and yet we all too often keep it hidden. In our effort to look competent and feel accepted, we frequently hide our vulnerabilities and the struggles we are really facing. Coming to therapy, although not easy, provides you the opportunity to share your burden. After all, “imperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we’re all in this together” (Brene Brown).
I believe in therapy and have many times witnessed its ability to heal. I think good therapy calls for sensitivity, genuineness, open-mindedness, honesty, and having your best interests at heart. I provide a non-judgmental environment while staying direct, practical, and honest, creating a safe space for you to reflect on your life and explore new ways of navigating it. During our work together, I will listen deeply to your struggles, help clarify aspects that you may not be aware of, and share my own perspective. My goal is to work with you to help you uncover your full potential and feel better about yourself. Through the process, I hope you grow in your self-acceptance, improve your relationships with others, and navigate your life according to your values.
The decision to turn to a professional who is the right fit and with whom you can build a safe and strong connection is an important one. I invite you to call me at 650-441- 9173 if you have questions regarding my practice or would like to discuss working together.
